Herbstfarben. Oder: Sie trägt lila. || Autumn colours. Or: She wears purple.

Jetzt ist es schon fast Herbst. Zurzeit ist es noch relativ warm hier, aber der Sommer ist definitiv vorbei. Ich trage noch Maxiröcke und -kleider (so lange das noch geht), aber mir ist gleichzeitig mehr danach, wieder herbstigere Farben zu tragen. Wie dieses lila Kopftuch, das ich vor ein paar Wochen noch zurück in den Schrank gehängt habe, nachdem ich es herausgeholt und mir überlegt, es zu tragen, hatte.

Autumn is around the corner. At the moment it is still comparatively warm, but summer is clearly over. I am still wearing maxi dresses and skirts (as long as I still can) but I am more in the mood to wear more autumn-y coloured clothes again. Like this purple scarf which a few weeks ago I still hung back into my wardrobe after taking it out and considering to wear it. 

 

 

Komisch, wie wir manche Farben mit bestimmten Jahreszeit verbinden, oder? Hat wohl was damit zu tun, wie die Welt um uns gerade aussieht. Im Herbst dominieren Farben wie burgunder, lila, orange und braun in der Natur, also ist vielen von uns wieder danach, sie auch mehr in unseren Kleidern zu tragen. Na ja, in Europa zumindest. Als ich in Südasien gelebt habe, haben die Leute dort im Herbst nicht plötzlich angefangen, Erdtöne zu tragen ... aber der Herbst sieht (fühlt sich an und riecht) dort ja auch ganz anders aus.
 

Funny how we associate certain colours with specific seasons, isn't it? I suppose it has something to do with how the world around looks like. In autumn, colours like burgundy, purple, orange and different shades of brown dominate in nature, so many of us are also more inclined to include them into our outfits. Well, in Europe at least. When I lived in South Asia, people did not really start wearing more of these earthy hues in autumn ... but, as a matter of fact, autumn looks (and smells! and feels!) different there.
